My name is Angela and I have been working with children, adolescents and young people for nearly 30 years, initially as a teacher and, for the last 8 years, as a counsellor. I have specialist training to work with children, young people and families and I have a masters degree in child and adolescent psychotherapeutic counselling from the University of Cambridge.
Although counsellors do not have to be members of any regulatory membership organisation, you should always ensure that anyone you choose to work with is registered. I am an accredited member of both the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and hold membership of the ‘Children, Young People and Families’ sub-divisions of both organisations. This means that the BACP and NCPS have endorsed and approved my practice as meeting high standards of proficiency, professionalism and ethical practice. I am also a Level 2 Professional Member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online. I am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and the ACTO Code of Ethics for my online work.
I hold an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate to enable me to work with children.
